Ryan Truex Takes the Wheel for Phoenix Racing No. 51 at Dover l Speedway
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (September 23, 2013) – Ryan Truex will drive the No. 51 Shooters Sporting Center Chevrolet this weekend for Phoenix Racing in the AAA 400 at Dover International Speedway.

"I can't wait to get back in the seat of the No. 51 Shooters Sporting Center Chevrolet for Phoenix Racing at Dover," said Truex. "I am grateful to Harry Scott Jr. for the opportunity to compete in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. I'm going to make the most out of this opportunity."

Truex has competed in the No. 51 on two previous occasions this season including at Bristol Motor Speedway under the lights and at Richmond International Raceway two weeks later on September 6, 2013. Truex, 21 from Mayetta, NJ, has raced in 35 NASCAR Nationwide Series races over the past three years with two Top 5 and nine Top 10 finishes. In 2012 Truex captured the pole position in the June NNS event at Dover International Speedway in No. 20 for Joe Gibbs Racing with a strong second place finish.

"I love racing at Dover. It is my home track in the national series. The Monster Mile's high banks are fun to drive, I've had a lot of success competing there," said Truex.

The primary sponsor on the No. 51 will be Shooters Sporting Center, which is an indoor shooting range for firearms and archery enthusiasts. Located near Ryan's hometown in Egg Harbor, NJ, Shooters Sporting Centers celebrates its Grand Opening on Saturday, September 28. More information can be found at www.ShootersNJ.net.

"I'm proud to have Shooters Sporting Center sponsoring my car at Dover. The Shooters Sporting Center is the perfect place for outdoor enthusiasts to sharpen their skills at the range," said Truex.

Another sponsor on the car is a company with local ties. SeaWatch International makes seafood products from high quality offshore clams and was founded in Milford, DE in 1978 and today is headquartered in Easton, MD.

About Phoenix Racing Phoenix Racing, which was established in 1989, is owned and operated by Harry Scott, Jr. and competes in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Scott purchased the team from long-time owner James Finch in September 2013. His vision is to build a championship contender in due time by developing talented young drivers, partnering with dedicated sponsors and competing hard every week.

Loving the Racing Life

Heather & I love racing with a deep passion. Most of our weeks include conversation about the last dirt track race or the daily drama that comes from the NASCAR world. We stay pretty busy at our local dirt track, whynotmotorsportspark.com, running the announcing and videoing the feature races. Then during the week, we try to write at least two articles giving a review of the last races held in Whynot Ms. on our website yellowcautionflag.com. Between racing and raising 4 kids, time can fly by so fast your head will spin out like a racecar diving into 4 trying to hold momentum for a last second pass to the checkered flag.

Twice a year, we escape away to a refuge of the 1% of Americans that love racing as much as we do. We find this refuge, really our 2nd home, at Talladega Super Speedway. We just completed our 9th consecutive trip to our little home away from home, camp ground West C. We have our neighbors that show up in May, then we have our neighbors that show up in October. The faces may change in our neighborhood, but the "Dega Hospitality" is always the same. It's a simple logic of our return twice a season , but it's not just the live track action of racecars going 200 mph, nor is the spectacular wrecks that always come when some driver notices in his rearview mirror that he needs to trim his nose hairs, which ultimately causes what we call "The BIG ONE". No, what keeps us coming back like AA meetings is the fans, and the ability to interact with folks who love racing just as much as us.

A family reunion is the only thing close to a description to the atmosphere that we long for  358 days out of the year. No matter if it's raining or shining, hot or freezing cold, campers have a way of opening up to one another. Learning of each others other lives, and where ya froms. The campsites are full of burning logs, great conversation, family ties, and adult beverages. Some get a little wilder than others, taking advantage of a free spirited atmosphere. Others just sit in there lounge chairs telling the group of listeners about the good ole days. We do a little of it all, meeting new people, and hanging with our friends. Always looking to pass on the good impression that Mississippi is still loaded with good folks.

One thing Heather & I learned after this last trip that seen a 24 hour down pour & mass flooding in the campgrounds, plus the colder than usual weather, we go to survive! We meet the challenge of weather, transportation, and the morning run to the PortaPotty because it takes us away from the daily chaos in our life. It gives a chance to breathe, get our minds to do more than organize a week of doctor appointments and grocery store runs. We set all that aside and we enjoy being US for a couple of days. Where all we worry about is keeping the campfire burning and making new friends with the ones we already call our Family.
